Dr. Alexander O. Johnson is a Mississippi native, having grown up around the Biloxi area of the Gulf Coast. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, studying biology and chemistry while applying to medical school. He ultimately returned to his home state and earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2021. While in medical school he developed an interest in the anatomy and pathophysiology of the head and neck, leading him to pursue a career in Ear, Nose, and Throat. Dr. Johnson accepted and completed a five-year Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He is trained in the comprehensive medical and surgical management of a wide variety of ENT complaints including allergies, sinus inflammation, nasal obstruction, sleep apnea, ear disease, and neck masses. In 2026 Dr. Johnson moved to Asheville and joined the Mountain Ear, Nose and Throat team. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery as well as the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
